Frequently Asked Questions
-
ADHD coaching is a practical, forward-focused partnership. Rather than exploring the past, we focus on where you are now and where you want to be — building strategies, routines, and systems that work with your brain, not against it. It’s not a replacement for therapy or medical treatment, but it works well alongside both.
-
I bring an Occupational Therapy background into my coaching. OT is all about helping people function well in the real contexts of their lives — home, work, relationships — not just managing symptoms in isolation. I combine that clinical training with ADHD coaching certification to look at your whole life, not just one part of it.
-
No — while I trained and worked as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS, I’m working with you here as a coach, not delivering therapy or clinical treatment. If I ever feel therapy or another form of support would benefit you more, I’ll always be upfront about that.
-
I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist. Coaching itself is an unregulated industry in the UK — anyone can call themselves a coach. My HCPC registration means I’m held to enforceable standards of conduct, ethics, and confidentiality, with real professional accountability behind my practice.
-
Not at all. I work with people who are formally diagnosed, self-identified, waiting for assessment, or simply exploring whether ADHD might explain some of what they’re experiencing.
-
Yes — both personally and professionally. I’m a mum of four navigating ADHD myself, so I understand the particular weight of managing a career, a household, and a brain that works differently, often all at once.
-
Sessions are collaborative conversations, not lectures. We’ll explore what’s getting in your way, identify practical strategies suited to your life and your brain, and build routines that are sustainable — not just another system you abandon in a fortnight.
-
This varies from person to person. Some clients find a handful of sessions gives them what they need; others prefer ongoing, longer-term support.
-
Yes - I welcome clients funded through Access to Work. Once approved, funding can be used to cover our coaching sessions.
