About Me

Hi, I’m Mel - a neurodivergent Occupational Therapist, ADHD Practitioner, ADHD Coach, and mum of four.

My Story

I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life, after years of feeling like I was working twice as hard just to keep up. Like so many people, my ADHD stayed hidden behind coping strategies, perfectionism, and sheer determination - until the demands of juggling a career and a busy family life made it impossible to ignore.

The late diagnosis changed everything. It gave me a new lens on my own struggles, and a deep, personal understanding of what it’s really like to manage a job, a household, and a brain that doesn’t work the way that the world expects it to. As a mum of four, I understand the pressure working parents with ADHD carry - the mental load that doesn’t clock out, the second shift that starts the moment the first one ends.

That personal experience is what drives my professional passion. I’m here because I know what it feels like to struggle in silence, and I’m equally driven by seeing people rediscover what they are capable of once they have the right support.

My Professional Background

I trained as an Occupational Therapist and hold a first class honours degree. I have spent several years working within the NHS, across both physical and mental health settings, supporting people from childhood through to older age. That breadth of experience taught me something coaching alone doesn’t: how to look at the whole picture of someone’s life - their environment, their routines, their relationships, their responsibilities - and find practical, sustainable ways to help them function and thrive.

Occupational therapy is fundamentally about helping people do the things that matter to them, in the context of their real, everyday lives. That’s exactly what I bring into my coaching practice - not just strategies for managing ADHD symptoms, but real, personalised support for the whole of your life: work, home, relationships, and everything in between.

Why My Registration Matters

I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist. This means I’m legally and professionally bound to a strict set of standards of conduct, performance, and ethics - covering everything from confidentiality and safeguarding to ongoing competence and professional accountability. Unlike coaching, which is an unregulated industry in the UK, my HCPC registration means I’m held to enforceable professional standards, with a duty of care that doesn’t disappear once the session ends.

My Coaching Credentials

Alongside my clinical background, I’m a Certified ADHD Practitioner and Certified ADHD Coach, and I’m currently working towards my ICF (International Coaching Federation) accreditation - bringing internationally recognised coaching standards together with my clinical training.

Let’s Work Together

Whether you’re self diagnosed, newly diagnosed, waiting for an assessment, or have known about your ADHD for years, I’m here to help you build a life - and a workday - that actually works with your brain, not against it. Not be adding more to your plate, but by helping you carry what’s already on it, differently.
